Procedure

The SHRADDHA brand Developed for assuring the buyers and bridging the trust deficit about genuineness, production technique, quality of the fabrics a product of the unorganised sector, which is the major challenge in promoting online sale.

Weavers, with known credantials, are being encouraged to apply for the Shraddha brand as a voluntary measure, which involve four steps

  1. Tecnical aspects of the applicant weavers are scrutinized and only those weaving genuine fabics, are registered under Shraddha brand, after executing an agreement.
  2. This agreement makes it binding on the weaver to produce fabrics with quality and dealing with the customers, contacting them in a professional manner and offering the best price,
  3. After settling the deal, the consumer will be required to send the cost of the fabrics to the bank account of the concerned weaver online and  the weaver will send the fabrics by IndiaPost/ courier,
  4. The branded weavers are being counseled for giving particular attention to quality and price of their fabrics and operate on a “low margin high turnover” approach in a free, fair and transperent manner.

Objectives

  1. Consumers satisafaction quality and price.
  2. Promote online “Direct to Customer( D2C ) sale by eliminating the middlemen.
  3. Increase earning of the weaver
  4. Make the price resonable
  5. Weaving and supplying quality fabrics as per the taste of the consumer will with and design will enhance the satisfaction level of the consumer.
  6. Eliminating the middlemen will provide enough margin to the weavers to sale at a price lower than market price and enhance his/ her earnings at the same time. 

For convenience of the buyers, handloom products of Odisha has been arranged in the following seven broad categories.

Categories

Single Ikat

Single ikat (tie and dye or bandh) popularly known as Khandua design woven by weavers of of coastal Odisha

Double Ikat

Double ikat(tie and dye) popularly known as Passapali chessboard design, woven by weavers of Baragarh, Sambalpur and other districts of western Odisha.

Extra warp/weft design

Extra warp/weft design on silk and cotton (popularly known as Bomkai design) woven by weavers of Ganjam, Sonpur, Boudh and other districts

Fine Count Cotton

Fine count cotton with extra warp ektra weft design (saree and other materials ) woven by weavers of Jagatsinghpur and other districts.

Tassar

Tassar (non mulberry, wild silkworm reared outdoor) silk fabrics woven by weavers of Gopalpur in Jajpur and other districts

Natural Dye of Kotpad

Fabrics woven with natural dye of Kotpad in Koraput district and other areas.
